About Manas National Park, Assam

Manas National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a prominent wildlife sanctuary located in the state of Assam, India. Manas National Park is in the western part of Assam, along the international border with Bhutan. It spans an area of approximately 950 square kilometers.

In 1928, authorities declared the park a wildlife sanctuary, and in 1990, it gained national park status. The park’s rich biodiversity attracts attention, housing various endangered species such as the Bengal tiger, Indian rhinoceros, Indian elephant, clouded leopard, and golden langur.
